the calendar might say september 11, but the higher than normal temps tell me it is still summer. therefore, i can get caught up on the rest of our "jam" packed summer.
we once again headed to shing wako on lake edward for just shy of a week. as you can see the van was "jam" packed!!
gibson is standing next to a favorite pool ball game at the playground just outside our cabin
the giant swings are always a favorite, too. love underdogs!
here is one of my pinterest edible crafts. pretty fun and easy, the kids loved them. the snap pea "leaves" are fresh from my garden, too!
miss abby with hers
kenya being goony!
gibson ready for a solo canoe ride
i made a yard version of bananagrams (word game) so fun, but we really didn't get to play it enough. i guess we'll be doing it again next year!
we tried inside out smores. good concept, but not the easiest to roast. still fun, messy, and of course yummy!
gotta have a campfire
loralai and makenzie also joined us at the lake this year. yay!
t-shirt time. this year we tried reverse tie-dye. a bit of a flop. wrong type of shirts, too much bleach, didn't rinse. two times a charm, so eventually all the kids got a relatively decent result. uf-dah!
fixing up the shirts with rubberbands
waiting with great anticipation...
finished look in front of our new favorite ice cream shop
wowzers!
another activity that "jammed" our tuesday and thursday evenings was softball. chaya and gibson both played, but kenya has decided to hang up her cleats.
i taught summer school which totally "jammed" up my sleeping in schedule. here is a fun craft idea that we did while learning about the dentist.
a fun doctor word work activity, contraction surgery
one of our family's favorite activities this summer was geocaching! we use an app on our phones and we basically find caches all over hutchinson and other communities. here chaya is with the container that was hidden in this tree burl and a nearby park.
here is another find. gibson is holding a log that we record our findings on.
what a treasure summer has been...
still a few more highlights to come!
