a...b...c's and 1...2...3's

chaya's 1st grade musical. the theme this year was the alphabet, they sang a variety of catchy tunes that had to do with the vowels, blends, and even the mysterious x. below you can see they were singing about the letters; l, m, n, o - chaya's holding the n.

chaya's big part was to help narrate the story, e-mergency. here you can see her saying eeeeeeeeee! super cute and fun to here them read with such expression!
mrs. heikes, her first grade teacher

a couple of her besties... cora and ava

the girls and i hanging out with the mysterious x

a family event... even grandpa and grandma t. were able to enjoy - why aren't they in a picture?

drew had spring break this past week and we decided to take advantage of a groupon that i purchased to pump it up in plymouth. tuesday evenings are glow and jump for any age. basically, two large rooms with inflatables, black lights and lasers. a first for all the girls and really fun!

this was the favorite. running up a slope with a flag trying to stick it to the velcro. they were always trying to get higher and really they would just sacrifice their bodies.
cheese - hard to take pictures in the dark with all the crazy flashing lights.
some of the other inflatables, slides, basketball, and a obstacle course.

 go chaya!
psychedelic man!

a pinteresting spring break

the girls and i just had the best spring break. first of, all the weather for the middle of march averaged 70 degrees and beautiful. this allowed the girls to be out riding bikes and rollerblading. it also allowed for some fun pinterest projects! here are some of our adventures and projects.
this was an ugly board that i picked up for $2.95 and turned into one of my favorite projects.
same board painted. so simple.
so tired of the girls never able to find ponies or bobby pins...
solutions
magnetic strip in our bathroom drawers
and a ribbon for bows and clips
rainbow cookies?
epic flop... oh, well.

ugly knife block

 now upcycled

ugly brassy cabinet hardware
37 handles and some black hammered spray paint equals...
a much better look!
a fun project with dollar store frames redone, skeleton keys, and burlap

a trip to owatonna, mn, holiday inn and serengeti water park for us girls

we loved the slides and mom loved being able to let them play while she read. we were lucky we had the place to ourselves practically.

                                                             just monkeying around

 hair experiment - before...
                                                                       after - beach wave
                                                                        table redo...

sanding, black paint, and some distressing

still needs a clear coat and new knobs.

wow, we had so much fun! as chaya said, it feels more like summer break rather than spring break. until next time...
