saturday soccer

chaya and gibson are trying their skills out in the game of soccer this fall. after two saturdays, they both LOVE IT! the really cool thing is that the varsity soccer players are the coaches for all the youth soccer groups.

there are three teams. two teams play a "game" while the other team practices. this is minutes after chaya gets her team shirt (red). the blue team didn't have enough players, so chaya quickly volunteered to play for blue. trader! it was pretty cute!
fancy foot work

as for kenya, no pictures yet, but she has been busy with swimming and volleyball. crossing patrol and band are in the horizon.

pudding pals!
the girls and i finally had some down time tonight in-between all the running around and homework. with a little left over pudding, we had some messy fun (of course with some clever academics, too)

phamily photo phun

bowling for the whole family, chaya's very first time ever!

geocaching at fort snelling state park. geocaching is when you use a gps unit to locate coordinates and look for basically, "treasure boxes" or caches. there are several state parks in mn that have them.
gibson leading the way
getting our clues for our next coordinates
that is one big tree!
we found the cache! super fun and we'll definitely do this again! we signed the log book and got to take an animal card. the other thing is that there are other "trinkets" inside, but if you take one, you need to leave something. thankfully, we decided that there wasn't anything in there worth having.
 gibson, "they attacked me!"
gibson with her new glasses. we found out last week that gibson's left eye is lazy. this means that she has never really used this eye. we are going to treat it with glasses to start with and hopefully in the long run be able to correct it. she looks so adorable (this picture doesn't show just how cute the glasses actually are) and she is very excited about wearing them.
me after gibson did my hair (she's now doing the photography). the girls always enjoy getting to do mommy's hair. however, my scalp and ears think differently.
