spring?

where is spring? it is march 24, 2013 (palm sunday) and we still have cool temperatures and a couple feet of snow that still needs to melt. there might even be snow flurries falling as i write this entry...
the girls and i had spring break a week ago and  managed to have a little fun along with a lot of laziness (at least on my part)
snow much fun at rocket hill
gibson puked (random, not sick) so hard she got instant freckles (there is a medical name for this)
the big day has finally arrived...
kenya's getting braces!
i couldn't help but tell her to smile. hee hee

she was told she was a perfect patient
after shot, all smiles and loving the colors
we joked that her getting braces was the reason we didn't go away for a spring break trip.
air maxx time! trampoline park and more...
a family first was laser tag, we all played and it was extremely fun!
surprisingly kenya (or rambo) was the overall winner. mom was the overall loser!
we also played some black light mini-golf.
off to the bell museum of natural history at the u of m campus
the girls' favorite exhibit
kissy kissy
 who's scarier?
 getting a little bear lovin'
 chaya's favorite
 gross
getting a little corny with horns
a great day followed up with some good eats at the bar abilene in uptown

time for bowling with the whole gilmore family

guess who won? that's right, me! it must have been the massage i had earlier in the day. i got a turkey, too!

there were friends over, pizza ordered, drew's band played, games, and much more
we ended spring break with laura and jon's wedding shower (at least the older girls)
my pinterest inspired job
laura (future sister-in-law) with her winning bouquet that my team made

it's a jungle

thursday, february 28, 2013, was gibson's third grade musical performance of the jungle book. even though  i watched rehearsal all week, plus two other performances from my own class, nothing beats watching my own child perform on stage.

 hallway decorations

the backdrops that gibson and drew had the privilege of painting

 jungle flower waiting with anticipation
 looking on
time to shine, singing "here comes the sun" in a small group of eight girls
a bit of a dance in between verses

gibson's artwork was chosen for the big screen during the performance, too. what a talented little girl

 set for bows
 friends (hope)
max (monkey), gibson, and tate (baloo)
 proud sisters
 mrs. mallak, third grade teacher
 proud parents
 all smiles
