show off week

kenya has been in the hutchinson high tides swim club for the first trimester of school and she just participated in her first "mock" swim meet. she was super nervous, but did a fabulous job. she swam the back stroke, breast stroke, and freestyle.

this is kenya (yellow cap) beating two boys in the 25m breast stroke. she likes this stroke the best. i think i was more nervous for her than she was!

gibson has been in gymnastics for the first trimester and she had a show off night. here she is balancing a bean bag on her head as she cruises down the balance beam!

a fun sunday afternoon treat! that's right, i made this pillow! my girls, nieces, and nephews will be making these during our christmas gathering. i first had to give it a whirl to see if it was even possible. it should be fun!
oh, i also fixed the date on my camera - i'm so lazy sometimes.

happy birthday nana

saturday, november 9, 2009, it was my grandma's (or great grandma nana banana, as the kids say) 90th birthday! we traveled to sauk centre nursing home to celebrate in style. she looked great considering all the ups and downs over the past months. yeah!

good clean fun

splish, splash, we were taking a bath ... on a halloween night! the girls and i ventured out by ourselves for some good ol' trick-or-treating. we first did the kiddie parade at the mall, then came home to eat and pass out treats to neighbor kids. then the big thing was to go back out when it was dark. ooooooh, scary. we had a blast.
