how much fun can we "jam" into the month of july? it started with some great tunes and family at music in the park in plymouth. drew had to work the event so we took in the large crowd, the evening ended with outstanding fireworks. we happened to be right under them, so much the ground shook.
next up, maple grove community center for some swimming. not sure if you can see, but chaya's tongue is out to help with balance and concentration. her facial expressions tell everything!
gibson's turn, the challenge was to go fast as the net that is usually above them is gone.
kenya and her friend katie went to volleyball camp at SWSC in marshall, mn, for four days. they stayed in the dorms there, it was so surreal dropping her off as she has really never been away and college seems not that far off.

while kenya was away we played. one thing we did was head to the dassel hillside farm to pick strawberries.
the girls loved it (so did i, as i use to do this with my mom when i was younger, too)

time for swimming and boating. the girls thought finding clams was cool. i think not.

how about a day-cation to ramsey alexander park in redwood falls, mn? what a quick drive for some fun hiking. there is a small zoo (5-6 different animals)
lots of fun hiking trails paved and unpaved. dad having a little picture taking fun.
the park is nicknamed "minnesota's little yellowstone". here we are on the stonearch bridge.

the falls! we were actually able to climb down to the rock next to the falls. a bit scary but very doable.
after hiking we took in the towns aquatic center for some fun.
another fun past time this summer has been puzzles. this is the first 1000 piece that the girls have completed. they are in luck as they scored about eight more at the church's rummage sale!
dad's early birthday present was to go rafting down the cannon river. here we are at the beginning of our eight mile journey.

we tried to stop a few times along the way to get in the water or have a snack.
a quick dip to cool off, we had to be very careful as the current was really strong and the water was quite high.
we even ended the trip with some cupcakes to celebrate!
