fishing frenzy

on saturday, january 30, 2010, the girls and i (drew was at class) ventured out to the gopher campfire club for a family fishing contest.

located about 7 miles out of town

we have no idea what to expect!
here is the "tank" or large plastic covered container filled with trout and poles lined up all around it.

waiting in line to take our turn fishing, we actually waited in line twice so the girls could have two turns at fishing

kenya with her pole in the first time, she actually caught a little 6.5 lbs. trout. at this point i realized i was a bit in over my head as there was no way i was going to get the fish off the hook. however, kenya was amazing and figured it out all by herself. we ended up giving the fish away and with all the commotion i didn't get a picture of kenya and her treasured catch :(

gibson and chaya with their lines in on the first try. we baited the hook with canned corn, we did surprisingly well, but no luck for the little girls. i think they were a little bummed.

we had a little lunch and jumped in line for a second try, but no luck. i'm pretty sure the fish supply was very low. we definitely had quite the adventure!
