tuesday, march 22, 2011, was gibson's 1st grade musical where we went back to the 50s. however, anything prior to performance that could go wrong, did! first, thought i plugged in the video camera - nope not plugged into the wall. next, couldn't find my camera. thankfully, my dear friend let me use hers (as we are now running late) we forgot gibson's glasses and her chiffon scarf for her hair. finally, the last straw was, as i dropped gibson and drew off at the front door (because we are now later than i'd like to be) i notice gibson is wearing her galoshes! aargh. so, we buzz home as fast as we can to get her things and make it in the nick of time to a packed gym with 80 first graders super excited to entertain. oddly enough, we even got front row seats! so, as all the craziness before hand was not humorous at the time, gibson's show was outstanding. we are so proud of her.
gibson had a solo during the song 'get a book', a twist to the original song 'get a job'. she was amazing!
her favorite song was "jambalaya", in this picture you can see most of her class.
